The Sonablate 500 is being studied in clinical trials for use in the treatment of prostate cancer in the United States and is not approved for use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. HIFU with the Sonablate 500 is approved for use in the treatment of prostate cancer in Canada and Argentina. It is also available in the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, and Mexico.
